The Northern Ireland Development Group (NIDG) was formed in January 2023 as a consultative and advisory body to identify and address the need for change in pro-Union politics as the basis for a more progressive, inclusive and stable Northern Ireland.

Based on public and political consultation, the NIDG provides recommendations in the form of discussion papers to help pro-Union politics generate strategic thinking and planning focussed on making Northern Ireland a better place for all and ending the sectarianism and division that continues to hinder positive cross-community development and creative approaches to social issues.
